This months Ride of the month goes to North Carolina resident Kenneth Rosenbalm Jr.
aka Scooter with his 1996 1st Gen Sephia.

CONGRATS SCOOTER!!

I’ve been watching this 1st Gen ever since his first week here at Streetkiaz. There is probably only a handful of this model Kia on SK even after 10 years. (Very rare) He got the car needing some TLC and he has put in just that. This car is a perfect build for him. Though he hasn’t been here long, I still feel that his focus for his ride and the way he has kept it, and keeping in good spirits, even when aggravated, trying to find parts for his ride. (At least he doesn’t show it publicly..lol) He's a Good fit for ROTM!

When SK first started back in the day, I had found only a handful of 94-96’s out of California and Puerto Rico, and that was quite some time ago. To date; I think Scooter has the cleanest body I've seen. 1st Gen's are the most difficult to modify with they're relation to Mazda being as they have the 1.8 bp engine and not the T8d that so many are used to.

It's good to see someone keep the past alive and it looks as if he'll have this ride for years with the time he's putting into it thus far.

Scooter has more photos of his interior and Engine bay clean up and mods he'll be posting soon. Relocating the battery, and the Monster Catch can were nice adds to the Bay. I'm glad to have you on the boards scooter, and I hope you keep this build going for some time. Congrats again, and now to the Q&A.

What is your favorite thing about Kia?

- There aren't as many people that fixes up kias, but every Honda out there is. lol Kia is like its own little class.

What is your favorite thing about your car?

- It was free!!! lol I like that there isn't another one around here, and everyone knows me by my car.

What got you interested in Kiaz?

- I just got the car gave to me at the age of 15 and have been working on it for 3 years now, and have grown to like it.

What are some of your future mods for your ride?

- HID's, Lip for the front bumper, Under dash lights, dome light, and id love to have a turbo or something, but that probably wont happen. lol

What do you hope to see in the future for Streetkiaz?

- To only get bigger and better.

If you could give advice to members, what would it be?

- Nothing, I think everyone on this site is kinda like a family. Ive been on a lot of sites, and only a few sites are like this one. And it makes being apart of this site great.

Who was your biggest inspiration growing up and why?

- My dad, not really sure why, but he got me into cars with his 01 Mustang GT that he worked on a lot, and of course I was right there helping trying to learn something.

How did you find Streetkiaz?

- I was on youtube trying to find another kia that was fixed up some and found a couple videos that had SK on them and thought id check it out.

If you could choose between a decked out Kia Kee, and a decked out Kia Optima SX turbo, which would you pick?

- Kia Optima SX turbo, I don't like the look of the kee. lol

Final words from Scooter.

- Id just like to say thanks to everyone on the site for helping me as much as they could. Its nice to have a site where if I'm stuck or trying to figure out something on my car, i can post up and get a response right away. And again, thanks to everyone on the site.

Welcome to the club! i love the work and dedication you've put into your ride. not many of us (teens, though im now out of that category :( ) have the will power or attention span to do it anymore lol

Also you should come out to carlisle next year (may-ish) i think you'll be a very nice addition to the group showing out there :)
