Author Obi:

It’s May, and since there were plenty of April showers, then it must mean flowers are on the way as well as summer, and summer means car shows and gatherings. It also means it’s time for another Ride of the Month and this month’s was a no brainer. I did little to no searching on this one. Instead, he was brought to my attention by a little birdie that sat on my shoulder one day. I am happy to announce that this month’s featured ride is none other than Rich or more commonly known as Kdm2ner, and previously known as RioCinco with his 2004 Kia Rio Cinco.

Kdm2ner has been with Streetkiaz since July of 2009 and it’s been nonstop ever since. Rich is not your average Streetkiaz member. He goes out and beyond for anyone and everyone and simply put, he is the man. Rich is a Streetkiaz Regional Chapter Leader and one heck of a leader at that. I could sit here for a while and write all the amazing qualities that makes Rich qualify for ROTM but instead; without naming names I am going to post some things that other members had to say about kdm2ner and his role here on Streetkiaz.

Some members were asked to give their opinion as to why kdm2ner should get ROTM and these are some of the things they had to say.

“1st off because of the great job he’s done with the past 2 meets in Florida and not to mention how fast he has spread the SK word on the net and on the street. 2nd is because of the passion he’s got not just for his car but the whole Florida SK team, all in all he is a great guy and an awesome region leader, and he is also one to dive in under any hood to make any mad happen.”

“he has shown great leadership with being the region leader with organizing meet and greets, bbq, cruising around, or just helping others out with getting mods installed and learning new things along the way along with challenges to over come...he is a great guy and enjoys his passion towards KIA's and many other unique cars that are sharing the road and passion of tuning a car that will define that person!!!”

“He will try and try and try again until he succeeds. No matter if it’s planning a meet or working on his and other peoples cars. He cares about SK and the people and he’s proud to own a Kia. I have a lot of respect for and I think he simply deserves it because he has wanted it so bad and he shows the initiative to get meet and greets together. He is a very dedicated person and he has the heart and soul to call himself a proud KIA owner/tuner.”

And now he can call himself May’s ROTM. Congratulations!!

Now for another session of Q&A with Obi.

What is your favorite thing about Kia?

Everything. Kia is an extension of "you". They have overcome a lot and in these tough economical times they are still growing. Look out; Kia truly has the power to surprise.

What is your favorite thing about your car?

NOW!!!! Everything. My car is so surprising. It’s fun as heck to drive. Ever since I started modding it. Each mod I’ve added to my car just made me fall in love with it all over again...I just can’t stop tinkering with it. It’s is an addiction, a fever is you will. hence the name "la fiebre".

What got you interested in Kia?

Well truth be told, I was never interested in KIA. I only got this car because my previous car was totaled. Some of yall may remember my first few post on here (COUGHerikCOUGH), I bashed my wagon and Kia in general. And now, I love my car. I’ve talked about selling it, but every time I start it up and drive it. Each time that I make a faster car, not beat me. or just BARLEYYYYY beat me. I fall in love with it.

What are some of your future mods for your rides?

LOL, asking me what future mods I don’t plan on doing may be easier to answer. l o l. but here we go:
96-98 Civic Type R lip & Fogs, Full P&P Exhaust & Intake, BBTB, Sway Bar, NeoTech Full Adjustable, Custom Valves, Cams Regrinds, Mega Squirt, Rear Disk Conversion w/ Cross Drilled & Slotted, Half Rad Mod w/ Slim Fans, Full Wire Tuck, Engine Dress up w/ Lighting & strobes, Motor Mounts, Engine Dampener, Carbon Fiber Leather interior, Racing Seats w/ Harness Bar, Black Interior w/ Green & White accents & Green Carpet, Rear Seat Delete, Interior Lighting, a couple Extra Monitors & subs, Turbo, Nitrous (just a small 25-35 shot), POWER WINDOWS, I can’t think anymore, but I’m sure I missed out a bunch more!!!!!

What do you hope to see in the future for Streetkiaz?

More recognition & respect... Not just for SK, but KIA in general!!!!
we need a national meet. SERIOUSLY... I’ll make it...

What are your best memories about SK?

I don’t have 1 I have many, sorry but I’m going to list them...

1. The day I met Erik (Fast01rio). He preached and convinced me that my car is more than what it is...He was right... Thanks bro.

2. The day I met my Team FL march 27 2010 (I believe), Draco, JP & Sam. "The 4 horseman", w/ the late addition of Keith. July 10 2010, made us "The Fast Five" (We came up with it first.....SERIOUSLY)

3. The day I was nominated for Chapter Leader. I’ve never been the leader of anything. Or had this much responsibility since the birth of my daughter.

4. My last meet. The turnout was amazing all the new members I met... NOW WE ARE TEAM FL!

5. And last but not least. ROTM, it’s an honor!!!!

If you could give advice to members, what would it be?

SK is not like other forums. SK really isn’t a forum. SK IS A FAMILY! I’ve felt nothing but love from everyone on here. The fun part about modding is the customizing. Just because we don’t have a huge aftermarket support....Making your parts and blood sweat & tears that goes into making it. is all worth it. EX: CodyKayla, how one held the pipe while the other cut to make an intake. That’s what it’s about. KIA & SK is a close knit group. Everyone helps each other out in some way or form. Perfect example. Everyone who helped and donated when one of our brothers needed help. you couldn’t get that from any other place. Or how, some members will help you over the phone how to complete a mod or walk you thru changing something on your car. or just to give general advice. SK & KIA is what tuning sprang from. Being able to make your car faster or customizing it to your personality with little touches from pin striping, to lighting to full blown out show car. or street car, and doing it with little or limited parts...
That’s why I love Kia and my car, because it is the true essence of modding and tuning.....

How did you become a leader for your area?

I was nominated by my team. And voted by my SK Family!

Who was your biggest inspiration growing up and why?

I never really had inspiration, but my father has been a major part of my life for the last 14yrs. the one who hasn’t looked at me as a failure, even if I keep doing the same shit. and who keeps giving me advice and is there to listen to me. to see what he has accomplished in life. and to know that he is helping me is that successful.

How did you find Streetkiaz?

Googled it... LMAO! I just wanted to know about the car. and first thing I came across was StreetKiaz.com...Been on it ever since...

Would you rather be a construction worker? A cowboy? Or an Indian?

That’s a tough one. They all have a few things in common. All are hard working, All Build with their hands. And all are always pretty much OUTSIDE!!!! But at the same time all are different. I'd rather be an Indian. Spiritual, Hard working, Honest. GREAT YEARLY SUN TANS!!! LMAO....

How would you design a spice rack for blind people?

UHHHHH! You know what, Ask djomega. lmao I’m sure he can Fiberglass Something up w/ speakers and it be all engineered and electronic and what not.

If you could choose between a decked out Kia Kee, and a decked out Kia Optima SX turbo, which would you pick?

Both are beautiful cars, I like the Kee because it’s unique and new sports car. BUT, I have a family and I need a bigger car, and Optima SX Turbo decked out is my way to go. Plus id probably beat the KEE in a race anyways. lmao...so ill have the best of both worlds with my optima!!!!

We have come to the end and in closing I turn the floor over to Rich aka Kdm2ner….

I just want to thank Streetkiaz; the last 5mths have been a true honor to represent SK! Being nominated and voted in as a Chapter Leader, and now ROTM. I thank everyone who has helped me get my car where it is today and who all is going to help me get my car to where it’s going.... (ERIK SAM & JP, LOL)....I’m not real good at keeping friends or having any friends at that matter. but the people that I have met here, I swear are not like anyone I’ve met. I give a special shot out to Erik, JP, Sam & David for there never ending support in helping me with my car. Each of you have given or helped with mods w/ my car. And being patient as this is my first car that I have ever modded. and helping me get it all done. To Matt, for driving down to come to my last meet. and for other helpful things he has done for me. To the rest of my team here in FL. and to all here on sk...THANKS, Love yall...
But last but not least. even though I know she isn’t going to read this. but to my fiancé who has put up with my endless spending on parts for my car. and putting up with my late night tinkering in the garage when I could be spending time with her. to having meets @ the house. and wrecking a house in a few hours as she has spent all week cleaning it. Thank you mi amour...

Stay Tuned, SK Team FL....

It doesn't matter really. LoL. Your hard work and dedication and everything in between has not gone unnoticed and for that you were chosen. You carry with you the essence of Kia. Just like you said. Welcome to the club and Congrats on your ROTM.
