Received my Delrin Shifter Bushing Kit and the Aluminum Shifter Tower washers today from KJB Motorsport.

Install of the aluminum tower bushings was simple.

For the Delrin Bushing kit, the small set was an easy install.

The larger ones, as everyone has said who has installed them, do required some sanding around edges or "makeshift pressing tool utilizing the tranny"

All in all, I must say the difference is NIGHT and DAY.

--> loose shifter feel or play: Gone

--->"Tranny jerk" associated when disengaging clutch: Gone
feels like solid MM installed when not

---->difficulty shifting into 5th: Gone

------> difficulty engaging reverse: Gone

Shifter and shifting feels solid, and slightly "heavier", a plus in my boot.

And the car feels like and automatic shifting...lol

I like the green ones ...

I'd say the aluminum replacement bushings made the biggest difference. The shift tower can really move around ...

so bmxdad, do have that feeling when down shifting from 5th that it doesn't wanna come out... i mean when you downshift from any gear, it comes out like nothing..

i think its so noticeable now than before because of the flex the oem bushings have. plus i added a washer on top of wach of the bushing for a more "snug" fit to eliminate the minute space between the clips and the bushings

Yea ... but I think thats kinda normal for these type of transmissions, along with having a smaller arm.

if you want kartboy bushings, use bmxdads link.

as for the aluminum tower bushings...twm sells them for 19.99... i didnt see if that includes shipping or not.

where i got my bushings and aluminum ones, each was $20 shipped. i asked to have it all sent in 1 package since i ordered each item 20min apart...lol

www.kjbmotorsports.com

install time for the aluminum shifter bushings..depends on how long it takes you to take the cosol off...

the delrin shifter bushings (since I have a CAI), the small one 2-5minutes.

The larger one took maybe half an hour cuz as i said, you have to sand down piece a little to slide in

I just changed out my shifter bushings when I got my TWM shifter and knob. They are bad ass. Once you get used to how the shifter feels like it belongs in a BMW. I haven't changed my transmission linkage bushings out but this is the next thing I plan on doing. I used to just be able to pull back on the shifter to go from 5th to 4th and it would slide right in. Now it gets hung up sometimes. I might actually put the 1/4" spacer under the shift knob with the 1/2" one just to see how it feels. Without the spacer the knob hits the E-brake in 2nd.

Brainsperm,

Gettin ready to order my bushings here real soon. Prolly this week sometime and wanted to see how they are working out for you. Still all good to go? If everything is in the green, I should have them installed by next week. Can't wait to feel how my baby shifts afterwards..
