That was the Super Kart class. They run motorcycle engines and transmissions. I have seen a few keep up with and out run F1 cars. Talk about sure death if you mess up.

It would be fun to have it a little larger with a Geo Metro drive train.

You can actually get a cart here that is raced up around 100mph. They are shifter carts. 100cc motorcycle engines. I have driven the 80cc class. Let me tell you, 60mph at 1 1/2" off of the ground is FLYING!!!! 100mph+ in a shifter cart is INSANE!!!!
HELLA fun though. Look up "Jim Hall Racing School". That is where I learned. About $450.00 for a 8-10 hr day of driving the go-carts. You learn an aweful lot about cornering and such.

If you have driven those carts then you know the feeling I use to get when I was driving formula cars. Just about the same. Most fun I have ever had. If I had a choice between formula car racing and sex, racing would win. At least it last longer.

I've driven 100mph carts before. Scariest thing I've ever done. The acceleration almost made me pee myself... The first indication I had of how fast I really was going was braking into turn one and realizing I braked way too late and I was probably going to die... lol.
After 20 minutes of lapping with no suspension, my wrists were none to happy, and the rest of my body was beat up too... I think I'd rather race touring cars than carts. The one thing about formula cars that appeals to me is manufacturer classes like formula ford where all cars are the same and it's only driver skill that takes the win.
