Yep, there called Ultrasports and there supposed to be the best you can get ... unfortunately there are some issues.

The fronts need to be swapped left to right so the sway bar can hook up, and the rear spring perch is about .3" lower so your going to squat in the rear ... unless you shim them. And you use the the Kia/Elantra lowering springs, like the H&Rs I have or the Eibach's ... and there hard to find.

Speaking of which, does anyone know the P/Ns of the ultra sport struts? The dealer here has an issue looking up the right numbers.

My bad ... the rear strut is higher not lower. So using Tib springs will drop the rear end ... using just the struts will raise it ...

I'm rockin Tiburon KYB GR2's front and rear, Intrax lowering springs and Tib 3/4" rear sway bar. I just had to make a few brackets to hold the brake lines on. I made them out of Aluminum so they wouldn't rust. Only took about 10 minutes to make the brackets.

do you guys think getting 16' rims with low profile tires will look ok without lowering the car. Im about to switch out stock rims i think...but im concerned there will be a large space between wheel wel and tire. thanks

I have 16's on mine they are fine people think they are 17's due to the chrome outer lip gives the appearance of larger rims.

Oh that spec looks sweet BTW, Tell your friend he has done a great job.

A friend of mine just installed some springs I had. They came from a 04 Tiburon and were SpringTech lowering springs by Canuck Motorsports.

I'm kicking myself now for not installing them!!

There low, but have a nice firm ride. He's going to an autocross meet tomorrow, so will see how they perform.

Since your stock wheel size is 14'..I would go for a 15x7 wheel. It's much wider than your stock 14x5.5 wheels.
It's a +1 wheel size...just get the appropriate tire size: 185/55/15 OR 205/50/15 ( 50 is the lowest profile you can go without lowering and having a hideous huge fender gap)

I got these correct tire size based on the fact you don't want to lower your car...yet don't want the ugly fender gap.

Do not get 16's. They will prolly look good..but you will have "Unsprung weight" which will greatly hamper your car's acceleration. 16's basically are all-show rims...too heavy and will have to be the same width (7 inch) as a 15' wheel.
205/50/15 tires are wide very wide for a Rio, which came standard with a 175/65/14 tire. 175 is skinny width...jumping up to 205 with a much lower profile in a 50..you have nice looks, perfomance handling, and
a "tastefully modded/yet agressive stance.

In SELECTING your wheels: -Try to shoot for the lowest offset you can get. For instance, Some 15' wheel choices are ET40 offset...try to find one that has a ET38...Obvously, make sure you also like the wheel design too. What you will get is an AGRESSIVE stance (with the offset and 205 tire width) Then you will look smarter than the guy who opted for 17's with 205/40/17 tires. he will even slower than ever before in acceleration...yet will have the same width tire as your 205/50/15's. Not to mention the 17's will "Dwarf" your rotors/drums (same goes for the 16's in my opinion.

**Also try to opt for the 15x7 (7 inch wide rim) instead of the 15x6 which is common for Asian import custom wheels.
Go wider! Get the lowest offset! (Go below ET40)

Sorry for the novel haha. And also just reading this today, wayyy late reply.

I have 16s with a low pro and it looks good, I'm getting rid of them in like a week if you want them, only have about 4000 miles on them at most

205/50R15s are not the same width at the tread as 205/40R17s. Also, this is not the rio forum.
