I forgot to put my hood pins back in after working on my car in class and was in a rush to get to work. Needless to say this is what happened....

Our next meet is scheduled for Sunday, April 28th at 1:00 pm in Hell! Drive in, hang out, have some ice cream at Screamers, and perhaps a cruise of the surrounding Pinckney State Rec area. Lots of great roads in the area!

The wife and I are looking to upgrade vehicles and the Soul is on the list. If I get one the first thing I'm doing is blacking out that piece.

Click on Photo Album on the left menu bar, upload your photo to the SK gallery. That will give you a URL to paste into the URL bar when it pops up when composing a new message.

Very nice :D What do you think? Have you tried to turn a wrench in the engine bay with those installed? Any issues with armspace now?

David

You can see in the third picture, the mounting point is centered with the strut tower and doesn't extend very far into the engine bay. The strut bar probably provides more hassle than the lifts do.

The distance from the base of the windshield to the top of the headlights is very short, so the struts sit very vertical when the hood is open. I think the hood opens higher now than it did with the prop rod in place Actually I'm positive that it opens higher, so there's more underhood space to work now.

You can see the tab where the prop rod used to be, and the rod is much shorter than the lifts when they're fully extended.

So here's the Video

Give it a little tug and the hood goes up by itself. There is a certain point where the weight of the hood is too much for the actuators to pull it up, so it just stays. Pretty cool.

The pieces they used for mine were all powder coated black anchors, riveted in place.

Welcome! Great to have another Michigander!

Fill out your info in the Michigan chapter thread and we'll keep you updated on meets and whatnot in the area.

The great thing about SK is you'll never be judged by the car you drive. We have Kias from mild to totally wild!

Welcome, again!

FYI they already have kits for Spectras and Fortes on their site, and I believe Bill is going to be carrying them as well.

Got them tonight! Too dark to get an pics but I'll snap some tomorrow.

The guys said the kits should be available on their website within a couple of days. Install required drilling a few holes and riveting the brackets in place.

April 6 is my first free weekend. Saturday or Sunday should work for me. How does that sound to everyone else?

Not yet. Had to reschedule for next week thanks to a Michigan ice and snow storm.
